He turns around, and suddenly he's face-to-face with Tapu Koko.

  • Ash is having lunch with the rest of the Pokémon School, when a sound startles them.
  • This episode continues the Amusing Injuries by having Ash touch Alolan Exeggutor's tail, to which it responds with a Megaton Punch.
  • "How do I get this kid's attention in a godly manner? I know! I'll sit on this tree and scREAM"
  • Tapu Koko grabbing Ash's attention so he can get him and Pikachu alone and give him the Z-Ring.

Ash, in particular, is thinking " You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!", Pikachu seems to have had a Heroic BSoD from them, and Mallow's just embarrassed. What makes it funny is Ash, Pikachu, and Mallow's reactions to them.

  • By itself, Samson Oak's Hurricane of Puns isn't that funny.
  • Even in Alola, he's not safe from the Ash Face it's pretty much got his name in the title for crying out loud! Especially when the Litten whose tail he steps on immediately retaliates with an Ember attack.
  • As is the fact that Ash and Pikachu stare for a few seconds, then decide to get the heck out of there as fast as they can.
  • His and Pikachu's ◊ Oh, Crap! expressions are nothing short of hilarious.

  • Bonus points for Bewear's absurdly high pitched voice (in contrast to its noticeably low-pitched cry in the games) that only gets higher as it gets more excited. Hilarity Ensues when Ash realizes why this would be bad. It's a flashback sequence completely played in fastforward.
  • The Ketchum family winning their vacation in a lottery.
  • In other words, it’s a mutual dislike for Ash & Pikachu that caused Bewear’s obsession with Team Rocket. In an attempt to gain their trust, Bewear took Team Rocket back to it’s cave and began providing them food and shelter at a time when they didn’t have any. This may have aligned well with Bewear’s newfound dislike of Ash & Pikachu, and thus Bewear decided it wanted to become allies with Team Rocket. Bewear may have witnessed the animosity between Team Rocket and Ash & Pikachu. Later on, Team Rocket showed up to catch a Mimikyu. Bewear may not be aware that humans perceive it’s arm-waving as seemingly friendly, and so it may have mistakenly perceived Ash & Pikachu as a threat, and thus developed a hatred for them. To Bewear, however, this was meant to be a warning not to come any closer so, when Ash & Pikachu came closer, Bewear responded violently. To Ash & Pikachu, Bewear looked like it was being friendly and welcoming, and so they approached Bewear. The Bewear started waving it’s arms arms around.

In Episode 1 of the Sun & Moon series of the Pokémon cartoon, Ash & Pikachu encountered a Bewear for the first time. If I am wrong in my interpretation of the word “anime”, and someone can prove to me that Pokémon is, in fact, an anime and not a cartoon, I will edit this article accordingly. This is my attempt at explaining Bewear’s strange obsession with Team Rocket.įor the record, I refer to the “anime” as a “cartoon”, and to explain why, I suggest my article titled “Anime: What is it, really?”. Ever since the Sun & Moon series began, I’ve wondered why Bewear seemingly had a strange fetish for Jesse, James, and Meowth from Team Rocket.
